Former NBA player Delonte West was arrested on November 3 after police found him unconscious and severely intoxicated at the intersection of Fair Haven Avenue and Richmond Highway in Virginia, the Fairfax County Police Department confirmed.
What Happened
Officers responding to a medical emergency discovered West breathing but completely unresponsive. His level of intoxication was so severe that police took him into custody for protective reasons. When authorities offered to transport him to a hospital for evaluation, West refused medical care.
West was subsequently released on bond following his detention. Whether formal charges will be filed in connection with this incident remains uncertain at this point.

This latest arrest adds to West’s growing list of legal problems throughout 2024. Earlier this year, he faced misdemeanor trespassing charges in Huntington under Fairfax County jurisdiction. Back in June, police arrested him after he allegedly fled from officers who were attempting to serve a warrant for violating release conditions and resisting arrest.
That June incident involved police administering Narcan after West apparently suffered an opioid overdose. Since retiring from professional basketball, he has openly struggled with mental health issues, particularly bipolar disorder, along with ongoing substance abuse problems.
