The Minnesota Vikings are close to finalizing a trade that would bring veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen back home, league sources tell ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
What the Trade Package Looks Like
Under the proposed deal, Minnesota would acquire Thielen alongside a conditional 2026 seventh-rounder and a 2027 fifth-round selection. The Carolina Panthers would receive a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 fourth-rounder in return, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. The move marks a homecoming for Thielen, who spent nearly a decade establishing himself as a cornerstone of the Vikings offense.
Why This Move Makes Sense Now
At 35, Thielen brings seasoned hands to a Minnesota receiving room that desperately needs depth. His Vikings tenure ran from 2013 through 2022 before Carolina lured him away last spring. The two-time Pro Bowler managed 48 catches for 615 yards and five scores during his Panthers stint—solid production that takes on added significance given Minnesota’s current circumstances. With Jordan Addison facing suspension and Jalen Nailor nursing a hand injury, the Vikings’ pass-catching group has been stretched thin at precisely the wrong moment.
