Da Bears Brothers' First Annual End of Season Awards

Thank you one and all for checking out our first annual End of Season Awards!
In this list, you will see who we thought were the bright spots on the team, as well as some of the not so bright spots. Before we get started, we would like to take a look back at the records that were broken over the past season.

Broken Records

  1. Franchise Team-Record for Most Penalty Yards in a Game – 14 penalties for 170 yards
  2. Franchise Record for Touchdown Passes – Jay Cutler (150)
  3. Franchise Record for Field Goals in a Season – Robbie Gould (33)
  4. Franchise Record for Total Points – Robbie Gould (1,207)

And The Award Goes To…

Da Olin Kruetz Award

The award goes to the player who Da Bears Brothers thought was the best offensive lineman for the team during the season.

  1. Will gives his Olin Kruetz Award to: Matt Slauson
  2. Brandon gives his Olin Kruetz Award to: Will Montgomery

Defensive MVP

This award is given to the most outstanding player on defense for the Chicago Bears.

  1. Will gives his Defensive MVP Award to: Pernell McPhee
  2. Brandon gives his Defensive MVP Award to: Willie Young

Offensive MVP

This award is given to the most outstanding player on offense for the Chicago Bears.

  1. Will gives his Offensive MVP Award to: Jay Cutler
  2. Brandon gives his Offensive MVP Award to: Matt Forte

 

Da Sid Luckman Award

This award goes to who Da Bears Brothers thought was the best quarterback for the team during the season. By a unanimous decision, and without much surprise, the Sid Luckman Award goes to…

Da Toughest Dude Award

This award goes to the player who Da Bears Brothers thought showed a lot of mental and physical toughness throughout the season.

  1. Will gives his Toughest Dude Award to: Kyle Long
  2. Brandon gives his Toughest Dude Award to: Jay Cutler

Most on the Decline

Most on the Decline goes to the player that Da Bears Brothers thought showed more regression instead of progression.

  1. Will gives Most on the Decline to: Sam Acho
  2. Brandon gives Most on the Decline to: Antrel Rolle

Most Improved

Most Improved is just the opposite of Most on the Decline. This is the player that Da Bears Brothers showed more progression instead of regression.

  1. Will gives The Most Improved Award to: Jay Cutler
  2. Brandon gives The Most Improved Award to: Eddie Goldman

Da Underrated Coach of the Year

Da Underrated Coach of the Year goes to the Chicago Bears coach that did not get a lot of recognition throughout the season.

  1. Will gives Da Underrated Coach of the Year Award to: Dowell Loggains, Quarterbacks Coach
  2. Brandon gives Da Underrated Coach of the Year Award to: Ed Donatell, Defensive Backs Coach

Da SingleUrlachkus Award

Put together Mike Singletary, Brian Urlacher, and Dick Butkus and you have the three hardest hitters in Chicago Bears history. This Award is given to the hardest hitter on the team. With a clean sweep of Da Bears Brothers, the SingleUrlachkus Award goes to:

Adrian Amos 

Da Surprise Player of the Year

This award goes to the player that Da Bears Brothers thought came out of nowhere and made a surprisingly significant impact on the season.

  1. Will gives The Surprise Player of the Year Award to: Tracy Porter
  2. Brandon gives The Surprise Player of the Year Award to: Zach Miller

Da Let Down Player of the Year

Da Let Down Player of the Year goes to the player that Da Bears Brothers thought would have more of an impact, but failed to leave their footprint on the season.

  1. Will gives The Let Down Player of the Year to: Eddie Royal
  2. Brandon gives The Let Down Player of the Year to: Alan Ball

Da Richard Dent Award

Da Richard Dent Award goes to the player that Da Bears Brothers thought brought the most to the table when getting after the quarterback. It was a very tight race as Pernell McPhee finished the year with 6 sacks, Willie Young finished the season with 6.5 sacks and Lamarr Houston finished the season with 7 sacks.

  1. Will gives The Defensive Pass Rusher of the Year Award to: Willie Young
  2. Brandon gives The Defensive Pass Rusher of the Year Award to: Lamarr Houston

Da Golden Boot

Beyond popular belief, this award does not go to the best kicker on the team. Instead, it is the player that Da Bears Brothers would give the boot to now that the season over.

  1. Will gives The Golden Boot to: Antrel Rolle
  2. Brandon gives The Golden Boot to: Shea McClellin

Da Baby Bear Award

Da Baby Bear Award is given to the player who Da Bears Brothers thought made the biggest impact in their rookie season. By a unanimous decision Da Bears Brothers select:

Eddie Goldman

Underrated Player of the Year

This award is given to the player who flew under the radar as far as making an impact on the game.

  1. Will gives his Underrated Player of the Year Award to: Matt Slauson
  2. Brandon gives his Underrated Player of the Year Award to: Ka’Deem Carey

Best Moment Award

This award is given for the moment that Da Bears Brothers thought was the best all season long. This season’s Best Moment Award goes to…

Da Bear Down Moment of the Season

The Bear Down Moment of the season award is given to the player who showed up most in our segment during the show titled, “The Bear Down Moment of the Game.”

Week 5: Jay Cutler’s game-winning touchdown pass to Matt Forte with 18 seconds remaining after a low snap and pressure in his face.

Da Oh Brother Moment of the Season

The Oh Brother Moment of the Season award goes to the player that showed up most in the “Oh Brother” segment of our post game show. The 2015 Oh Brother Moment of the Season goes to…

Week 13: Robbie Gould’s missed game-winning 35-yard field goal at the end of regulation that led to the Bears losing to the 49ers.
