The 2018 NFL season is upon us. With the draft and trades this offseason, the Bears are looking exciting on paper, but what will they look like on the field? One thing that is certain is the uniforms they will be wearing each game.
The Bears will be wearing four different uniforms this season:
- Traditional Home and Away sets
- Monsters of the Midway throwback
- Orange alternate
This may seem like a lot for a typical season and that is because it is! In 2018, the uniform restrictions have loosened to allow a team to wear up to two non-primary uniforms. The Bears are taking full advantage of it by adding in the orange alternate uniform. You can check out my previous article on the orange uniform here.
In 2015, the NFL installed Color Rush Thursday Night Football matchups and this has become optional in the new rules as well. The Bears wore an all navy uniform twice since 2015. The term “Color Rush” was new that year, but teams did this prior to it being a mandatory uniform. Combing through Brian Urlacher pictures, I noticed a particular game where the Bears wore white jerseys and pants on the road in Atlanta. The game turned out to be a great one for the Bears and Urlacher who accrued a sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery, interception, touchdown and five solo tackles. Quite the game for the Hall of Famer.
Chicago will wear traditional home uniforms for all home games except for two. One of those games is in Week 8 on October 28 against the New York Jets. This game will feature the Monsters of the Midway throwbacks and will be the only game with this uniform, enjoy it!
The second home game with an alternate jersey will come in Week 11 against the divisional opponent Minnesota Vikings. Mark this one on your calendars as this is the orange alternate uniform and last game with the Bears wearing a non-primary uniform this season.
All away games will feature the traditional away uniforms, except for one against the Miami Dolphins. This game comes right after the Week 5 bye week. Da Bears Bros will be traveling to the game with nearly 50 other fans and will also have a “uniform” in the stands as a commemorative t-shirt will be made for this game.
What a time to be a Chicago Bears fan. With the addition of Khalil Mack to the defense there is even more optimism going into the 2018 season. This is a new team with a new look that has high expectations. At a minimum, they will be the best-dressed team this season, but I expect them to also perform on the field 😉

That’d be awesome if da Bears wore all whites with the white C on the helmet and a grey face mask instead of the Monsters of the Midway uni
If I might say, then I like the uniform on the left. The design and printing pattern is whole different this time and color combination is simply amazing and visually attractive as well.
