An Apology Letter to Marc Mariani

On Saturday, I saw a tweet from Aldo Gandia that surprised me regarding the Bears punt return numbers. After reading the tweet, I responded with some harsh words about Marc Mariani.
Here’s the tweet:

As you can tell, Mariani found the tweet and so I decided that if he made enough big plays in the return game, I would read him an apology letter on the postgame show.
Well, he did not make me eat my words with returns but he did show up in the pass game.
He caught two passes for 37 yards. His longest reception was for 24 yards.
So without further ado…
Dear Marc Mariani,
I want to apologize for calling you out on Twitter.
I just had a hard time believing that stat. I want to face the music and say congrats on making me eat my words. I’m not just a guy sitting behind a computer screen bashing your work, I appreciate the work you’ve put in for the Chicago Bears. You are a versatile player and I’m sorry for harshly criticizing you. I hope you forgive me, let’s get pizza some time to make up for it.
